DOJ APPROVES NBI ASSIGNMENT OF AREAS

In continuing reform initiatives, the Department of Justice (DOJ) recently issued Department Circular N0. 046 officially dated 27 July 2012 delineating the areas of responsibility of the regional and district offices of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) nationwide.

The circular ralionalizes and aligns the political boundaries with the geographical conditions given the archipelagic nature of the country.

"This is to ensure that access to justice is increased and broadened given the mandate of the DOJ specially for the citizens and users of the basic clearance and investigative service of the premier law enforcement agency. the NBl", said Secretary of Justice Leila M. de Lima.

NBI Director Nonnatus Caesar R. Rojas and Deputy Director for Regional Operations Virgilio L. Mendez recommended the assignment of the areas after an assessment and evaluation of the various ofrices.

"We shall implement the action plans with the overall direction of the DOJ and make the N Bl truly more responsive and effective said Director Rojas.
