The Department of Justice (DOJ) commenced today the Training and Education Program for Law Enforcement Officers (TEPLEO) at the Sequoia Hotel, Paranaque City.
Benefitting around 120 combined personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), this is the first batch of a 3-day activity from 17-19 July 2024 aimed at strengthening the partnership between prosecutors and law enforcers to achieve a common goal of securing airtight cases and establishing a reasonable certainty of conviction in filing cases before the courts.
TEPLEO further strengthens Department Circular No. 20 series of 2023 which institutionalizes the policy on the pro-active involvement of prosecutors in case build-up, particularly during the case build-up stage where they may require, assist or otherwise cooperate with the complainants and/or law enforcement agencies.
Assistant Secretaries Eliseo D.C. Cruz and Randolph A. Pascasio, Sr. Deputy State Prosecutor Peter L. Ong and Senior Assistant State Prosecutor Mary Jane W. Sytat were the keynote speakers of the event.
“May this activity serve as a catalyst for positive change, empowering us to fulfill our duty with diligence, integrity and unwavering resolve. I am confident that through collaboration, knowledge sharing and strategic planning we will pave the way for a stronger and more effective delivery of justice in our country,” Asec Cruz underscored.
“Prosecution and Law Enforcement are the bedrock of our justice system, hence, we should solidify this partnership to our advantage in upholding the rule of law,” Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin “Boying” C. Remulla stressed.
The training program which will host different batches every Wednesday to Friday of each week from July to November is spearheaded by Asec Cruz with the assistance of Undersecretary Fredderick Vida and in coordination with the Planning and Management Service (PMS) headed by Director Vanya Maneja-Kharazmi.
