ILIGAN CITY - Iligan City’s Multidisciplinary Team and Task Force against Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) showcased their prowess in utilizing the Cyber Warrants, a tool provided under the Rules on Cyber Warrants and Republic Act 11930, during their successful operation last July 21, 2024, at about 10:54 PM. This operation led to the arrest of a female suspect (AAA) who was caught using, persuading, inducing, engaging, directing, and/or facilitating children in the creation and production of Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Material (CSAEM) in Brgy. Suarez, Iligan City. Six (6) minors were rescued from this successful operation, of which three (3) are the suspect’s children and one (1) is a relative.

The arrest of AAA was a product of the close collaboration of Iligan City’s Multidisciplinary Team and Task Force against OSAEC, whose members are the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), Prosecutors Office, Iligan City Police Office (ICPO), Philippine National Police Women and Children Protection Desk (PNP-WCPD), Department of Education (DEPED), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), among other coordinating agencies. Moreover, the implementation of the Warrant to Search, Seize, and Examine Computer Data (WSSECD) led to the confiscation of various paraphernalia used in the commission of the crime. Afterward, AAA was brought to Iligan City Police Station 2 for booking procedure and proper disposition.

The child victim-survivors aged seventeen (17), sixteen (16), eight (8 ), five (5), four (4), and two (2) were immediately turned over to CSWDO, Children Assessment and Processing Center in Poblacion, Iligan City for comprehensive support and rehabilitation.

This operation demonstrates how Republic Act 11930 effectively strengthens the country's defenses against OSAEC, equipping multidisciplinary teams and anti-OSAEC task forces with essential tools to pursue perpetrators. As the investigation unfolds, authorities remain vigilant in their pursuit of justice.

The Multidisciplinary Team and Anti-OSAEC Task Force was formed through Iligan City’s Executive Order No. 0028 series of 2024. The local government has successfully established its localized structure and mechanism for efficient and effective collaboration among government and non-government agencies in addressing all forms of child abuse and exploitation.
