Taking into heart the true essence of the “Bagong Pilipinas” brand of leadership, the Department of Justice through the DOJ Action Center (DOJAC) ventured to join another Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair (BPSF), this time in the province of Cavite from 27-28 September 2024.
Aiming to bring essential government services closer to the people, especially the marginalized and underprivileged sectors of society, the DOJ embarked on another journey of public service using the BPSF as a medium.
Under the direct supervision of DOJAC Undersecretary-in-Charge Margarita N. Gutierrez and Program Director Asst. State Prosecutor Joan Carla Guevarra, the 2-day BPSF hosted the frontline services of the DOJ National Prosecution Service (DOJ-NPS), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Public Attorney’s Office (PAO), Bureau of Investigation (BI), Land Registration Authority (LRA) and DOJAC rendering free legal advice, mediation, counselling, notarization as well as the drafting of formal referrals/indorsements of cases to concerned government agencies.
Aside from the free legal services by DOJAC and PAO, agencies also catered to the issuance/processing of NBI clearances, help desk for land title concerns by the LRA, tourist visa/citizenship and exit clearance matters by the BI.
Regional Prosecutor Josef Albert Comilang led the Region IV-A Prosecution Office bringing its free legal services to walk-in-clients, replying to queries concerning the filing of criminal cases and other similar services.
On top of the catered frontline government services, the main highlight of the BPSF was the ceremonial turnover of national government agency relief/items and program grants for identified beneficiaries.
Key personalities who supported and participated in the event were Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr., Cavite Governor Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla, Cavite 1st District Rep. Ramon “Jolo” Revilla III, AGIMAT Partylist Rep. Bryan Revilla and House Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez who is mainly responsible for the conduct of BPSFs throughout the country.
“It is always an honor to be part of noble affairs such as the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair, reaching out to our people who are in dire need to assess their situation and provide them first hand solutions. Without a doubt, this is real justice in real time,” Sec. Remulla scored.
The most recent BPSF was held in Davao City earlier this month.
