The Department of Justice - National Prosecution Service (DOJ-NPS) renewed its Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) previously executed with the Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF) in order to jointly undertake efforts to strengthen the collaboration and cooperation between the prosecution and the law enforcement through constructive dialogues. The previous MOU signed in 2017 focused on dialogue activities in the Northern Mindanao Region which helped to highlight the positive impact that a close cooperation between prosecutors and police can have towards an improvement of the criminal prosecution procedure.
The HSF is a non-governmental entity organized and existing under the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany with its main office in Munich, Germany, and supports projects in more than 60 countries worldwide. It has been active in the Philippines since 1979, extending development assistance in co-operation with Philippine partner organizations mainly in the field of human resource and policy development ranging from training and education, community-based and top-level policy dialogues, research and publication, international/regional exchange, to project development.
The MOU was signed by Prosecutor General Benedicto A. Malcontento in behalf of the DOJ-NPS and Mr. Gotz Heinicke, HSF Resident Representative in the Philippines.
