02 August 2022

Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin C. Remulla, the officials and employees of the Department of Justice (DOJ) join the Filipino nation in mourning the passing of former President Fidel V. Ramos.

President Ramos, the 12th President of the Republic of the Philippines, will be remembered as a pillar in improving the justice system in the country. In one of his speeches in 1992, he said, “I am determined to see that our people become satisfied with the justice system. This is the only way they can appreciate the meaning of the words ‘rule of law’.”

As a strong leader, one of his legacies is his order to include, as an integral part of the continuing education and training of personnel in the Department, the study of human rights.

In addition, he also authorized Registries of Deeds to occupy or continue to occupy office spaces assigned to them in buildings that have been constructed or will be constructed to building plans approved under the Justice System Infrastructure Program (JUSIP) to ensure the protection and preservation of land titles.

The DOJ will always remember President Ramos and honor him by adhering to his words: “Justice is a Government project: Do not delay.”
