New prosecutors attend Online Onboarding Seminar

07 August 2020

A total of 55 newly appointed prosecutors attended the first ever Online Onboarding Seminar for Newly-Appointed Prosecutors (OOSNAP) pursuant to the directive of Prosecutor General Benedicto A. Malcontento to continue capacitating prosecutors amid the present pandemic.

OOSNAP is a five-part webinar series for onboarding prosecutors, which is a part of the Program for Onboarding Prosecutors under the Life-Long Training Curriculum for the Training, Education and Development of National Prosecution Service (NPS) Prosecutors.

The course enables new prosecutors to (i) know the vision, mission and values of the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the NPS, (ii) familiarize themselves with the organizational structure and officials of DOJ and NPS, (iii) know their mandate and duties as prosecutors, and (iv) demonstrate increased knowledge and skills in carrying out their basic prosecutorial functions.

OOSNAP was conducted by the Special Projects Division (SPD) headed by PP Renato C. Samonte, Jr. and the OOSNAP Training Team, headed by SDSP Richard Anthony D. Fadullon.

The webinars were conducted on June 28 to July 3, 2020 and July 17- July 24, 2020.
