Newly-appointed Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II appealed for support as he started his 1st-working day with a liturgical mass. Speaking before DOJ personnel and officials, the Secretary called for unity in order to achieve the goals of the Department.

“Suportahan po natin ang Duterte administration because without your support we cannot do anything, without your support we will not succeed but with your full cooperation makukuha po natin ang tunay na pagbabago,” SOJ Aguirre underscored.

He also stressed the marching orders of President Rodrigo Duterte to promptly get rid of corruption, illegal drugs and heinous crimes through the efficient administration of justice. Secretary Aguirre also emphasized the urgency of striking out corrupt practices within the Department, including its attached agencies in order to regain public trust.

“Ang sabi po niya sa akin, Secretary Vit pagtuunan ng Departamento mo ang tatlong bagay sa iyong panunungkulan. Unang-una ang matinding graft and corruption dito sa iyong kagawaran, drugs at saka mga heinous crimes,” said Secretary Aguirre.

“Napakaraming problema sa NBI, mga attached agencies, dito po sa ating kagawaran alam din ninyo iyan at huwag kayong mangingiming lumapit sa akin. Magsumbong kung despite my appeal ay tuluy-tuloy pa po ang hindi magandang ginagawa ng ilan sa ating mga kasamahan, iilan naman lamang po iyan na dumudungis sa malinis at karangalan ng ating kagawaran. Ganyan din po ang sasabihin ko sa NBI, Bureau of Immigration, sa Land Registration Authority,” the Secretary added.
