The Department of Justice (DOJ) was recognized as one of the "Top Requested and Performing Agencies" during the 2023 Freedom of Information (FOI) Awards held at the Hilton Manila, Pasay City on 21 November 2023.

Assistant Secretary Randolph A. Pascasio received the Awards on behalf of the Department.

The event, spearheaded by the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), acknowledged and paid tribute to individuals and government organizations under the Executive Branch for their exceptional implementation of the FOI Program.

The recognition is given to National Government Agencies (NGAs) with a total of 500-999 requests with at least 90% closed transactions in the e-FOI portal.

Executive Order No. 2, series of 2016, led to the creation of the FOI Program  which operationalizes in the Executive branch in response to the call for transparency and complete disclosure of information to the public.
