The Department of Justice has marked October 24 – 30, 2004 as the 10th National Correctional Consciousness Week (NCCW).
The Parole and Probation Administration (PPA) celebrated the 10th National Correctional Consciousness Week (NCCW) with a distribution of gifts to some sixty parolees, pardonees and probationers under its supervision on October 25, 2004 at the PPA Central Office in Quezon City.
The gift-giving ceremony highlighted the PPA’s celebration of the 10th NCCW from October 24 – 30, 2004 pursuant to Proclamation No, 551 by then President Fidel V. Ramos. The proclamation declares the last week of October and every year thereafter as “National Correction Consciousness Week”.
During the ceremony, PPA Acting Administrator Ismael Herradura called on the Agency’s clients composing the parolees, pardonees and probationers to renewed lives according to what they learned and experienced during their rehabilitation period. He also stressed that these clients are proof of the Agency’s performance in the implementation of its rehabilitation programs.
Aside from gift-giving, other activities during the celebration included a film showing and a seminar on soap and fabric conditioner-making. Participants of the seminar were officials and employees of the agency. The resource person during the seminar is a probationer of San Mateo Parole and Probation Office.
