DOJ is 107 years old

The Department of Justice commemorated its 107th anniversary on September 26, 2004 in simple ceremonies.
The day's activity started with a holy mass followed by the celebration's highlight, the 1st DOJ Awards for Outstanding Prosecutors, Public Attorney, DOJ Employee & Officials/Employees of Attached Agencies. Each awardee received a plaque and P10,000.00 as incentive.
The conferment of the awards was part of the Department's recognition for the unimpeachable integrity, competence and significant contribution of the state worker to the service, community and government.
Another feature of the occasion was the annual loyalty awards were a total of 432 Department officials and support staff nationwide are recipients. Cash incentive of P1,000 for each year of service were given to those who have served a period of 10 years in the Department and a milestone of every 5 years thereafter.
Newly appointed Acting Secretary of Justice Raul M. Gonzalez delivered his anniversary message .
Chief State Counsel Ricardo V. Paras III, over-all Chairperson of the Anniversary Committee said this year's celebration was in keeping with the President's call for austerity.
