DOJ OFFICES CITED AS TOP COLLECTORS OF GOV'T FEES

Acting Justice Secretary Agnes VST Devanadera has lauded three agencies under the Department of Justice for being among the country's top ten revenue earners.
“Fidelity and dedication to their duties and responsibilities and most of all team work , has earned our three agencies the accolade,” the acting justice secretary said. The DOJ agencies which are among the top revenue earners of government are the Land Registration Authority (LRA), Bureau of Immigration (BI) and National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
“As the Department and our line agencies salute you for the honor you have brought us, I call on you not to rest on your laurels but instead keep up the good work and strive for more improvement for others to emulate,” Devanadera stressed.
The Department of Finance in its report ranked the top ten government offices with earnings drawn from fees and miscellaneous charges pooled from 2001 to 2006. The DOJ's LRA was ranked no. 2 and the BI was ranked no. 5, LRA having raised Php10.45 billion, contributed an average of Php1.74 billion each year while the BI pooled Php 6.65 billion with Php1.1 billion per year. The NBI got the 10th slot with a collection of Php 1 billion a year.
The other agencies were the Air Transportation Office with Php12 billion, National Telecommunications Commission with Php10.2 billion, Land Transportation Office with 9 billion , Department of Foreign Affairs, Securities and Exchange Commission, Professional Regulatory Commission, Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board.
