Crime Campaign Highlighted in Summit

Components of the provincial and city councils for the Administration of Justice today meet at the Westin Philippine Plaza, Manila to discuss ways to combat illegal drugs and criminality.
The objective of the summit is to discuss and formulate solutions in order to address recurring problems that affect the government’s efforts to combat crime particularly illegal drugs.
Supreme Court Chief Justice Hilario Davide will be the guest of honor while Justice Acting Secretary Ma. Merceditas Gutierrez will deliver President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s message.
During the summit, representatives from the different pillars of the criminal justice system will present their position papers. At the end of the day, a draft resolution shall be made to consolidate all the papers presented.
For the law enforcement, PNP Director General Hermogenes Ebdane will make the presentation, for the courts, Judge Sixto Marella will present the judiciary’s position. Other presentors include Undersecretary Jose Calida of the Dangerous Drugs Board, CSP Jovencito Zuno for the Prosecution, Director Arturo Alit and Parole and Probation Administration Gregorio Bacolod for Corrections and Atty. Jose Anselmo Cadiz, President of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines and Mr. James Marty Lim, President of the Liga ng mga Barangay for the Community.
