DOJ Expands Action Center

The Department of Justice has expanded the services of its action center in the regions.
Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez, in his memorandum to regional state prosecutors, directed the regionalization of the Department of Justice Action Center to assist walk-in and phone-in clients and letter-senders requesting legal assistance, advice or counseling.
Secretary Gonzalez said the DOJAC regional office shall receive and act on complaints or requests for assistance from the public. It shall assist and attend to walk-in clients by extending to them the appropriate from of assistance sought or required.
The DOJAC shall also refer to the appropriate agencies of the Department or government offices the complaints or requests made by its clients.
The expansion of the DOJAC to the provinces is one of the several reforms being implemented by Secretary Gonzalez to improve free legal services and widen the access to justice by the poor and marginalized sectors of the society.
The DOJAC Regional Office shall be headed by the regional or provincial prosecutors with the assistance of the regional and district public attorney and shall be assisted by one or two personnel of the National Prosecution Service who shall attend to written, phone-in and walk-in clients.
