Special Projects

 

In pursuit of its mandate and mision, the DOJ launched several programs and projects to establish and maintain a just and orderly society through effective, efficient delivery of justice.

These programs/projects include the following:

  1. DOJ ACTION CENTER
    Acts on complaints, requests for assistance and legal queries of walk-in clients of the DOJ.

  2. WITNESS PROTECTION, SECURITY AND BENEFIT PROGRAM
    Became operational in 1991. The program admits witnesses whose testimonies are vital in the prosecution of criminal cases.



  3. JUSTICE SYSTEM INFRASTRUCTURE PROGRAM OR JUSIP
    Provides decent buildings and offices for judges, prosecutors, public defenders and probation officers.



  4. VICTIMS' COMPENSATION PROGRAM
    Gives compensation to victims of unjust imprisonment or detention and victims of violent crimes.



  5. CHILD PROTECTION PROGRAM
    Monitors the implementation of Republic Act No. 7610, "The Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act."

  7. ANTI-TRAFFICKING IN PERSONS CAMPAIGN
    Formulates policies that will implement Republic Act No. 9208 otherwise known as Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003. Monitors anti-trafficking cases.

  8. TASK FORCE AGAINST POLITICAL VIOLENCE
    (Task Force 211)

    A new government body tasked to address the issues of political violence and extra-judicial killings. Its mandate is to "harness and mobilize government agencies, political groups, the religious, civil society and sectoral organizations and the public for the prevention, investigation, prosecution and punishment of political violence, the care and protection of people and communities victimized and threatened with violence, and the promotion of a culture of opposed to violence and for the advancement of reconciliation and peace." It is currently chaired by Undersecretary Ricardo R. Blancaflor.

  9. KATARUNGAN VILLAGE OR DOJ HOUSING PROJECT
    Provided housing for DOJ and other government officials in an area that was formerly part of the new Bilibid prison reservation in Muntinlupa City
